INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES UNIT Contact: Santiago Bonet

The aim of the Information and communications Technologies department, TIC, is to transfer the technology in our network of companies so it may be successfully incorporated into the Information Society and e-commerce, as well as developing new services geared towards SMEs (Small and Medium sized Enterprises) in the metal processing sector.

Its main activity centres on the areas of:

Free Software

AIMME leads the project SOURCEPYME: "Autonomic Center of Coordination and Diffusion of the use of Applications of Free Software in the sectors of the Metal and Plastic". SOURCEPYME is a project promoted by the IMPIVA that it has by purpose of fomenting and of facilitating the use of free software in the SMEs with the objective to gain technological capacity and to reduce costs. AIMME offers consultant's office for the use and migration to free software.
E-commerce

AIMME offers assesment and training on the following aspects of the E-commerce:
  • Internet strategy: business model identification, feasibility study and technical support in the implementation process.
  • Marketing.
  • Legislation and tax aspects.
  • Equipment: servers, switchboards CTI and network connections.
  • Internet services connections, hosting, EDI.
  • Developing web sites: graphic design, text translating, applications with data base access and EDI.
  • Semantic Web: development of information searchers for companies in natural language.
  • Security: digital signature.
  • Terms of payment.
  • Logistics.
  • Integration with ERP management applications.
  • Training: demonstration of tools and solutions from different suppliers, as well as specific training.
Development of software applications

  1. Development of customized web applications aimed at E-commerce and E-business: Intranet., Extranet, mobile e-commerce applications, digital signature, e-learning systems, document management systems, etc.
  2. Development of tailor-made software applications for implementing:
    • Systems of:
      • Data acquisition: originating from any type of sensor via a data acquisition card or a series port.
      • Monitoring of industrial processes: control of any type of mechanism via analogue/digital outputs, real-time systems, development of compilers.
    • Tailor-made data base applications for local/remote access, data analysis (digital processing, calculations, statistics) and presentation of results (lists, graphics).
Technical Training

  1. Workshops and training courses either through attending or distance learning, in Information and Communications Technology: Advanced Internet and E-commerce and E-business.
  2. Free Software.
  3. Development of web-based courses.
