The fundamental aim of the transfer office (OTRI) is to make possible the correct assimilation of innovative elements into the productive structures of SMEs through the identification of both internal and external research results and the evaluation of their transfer potential. To this end it works in four directions:

• Bringing into play those activities supported by AIMME's technological wing as required by the companies; seeking out both potential partners and suitable R&D programmes for the financing and development of these activities.
• Looking for technological opportunities in the form of projects for specific company profiles or the specific technological needs to a company, consulting in the negotiation of research and development contracts, technical support, consultancy, patents, etc.
• Circulating project and activity proposals which, whether tendered by national or international companies, could be of interest to AIMME's associate companies.
• Providing answers to the most frequently asked questions about technological cooperation and R & D support.
