METROLOGY AND CALIBRATION LABORATORY

The aim of AIMME’s metrology and calibration laboratory is to facilitate the metrological infrastructure, training and metrology services needed by companies from any sector of activity to assure the quality requirements demanded of their products and services in addition to requirements coming form their own quality management systems.
Activities:
The Laboratory’s activities answer the following needs:
- Metrological checking of pieces, gauges, moulds, dies and prototypes.
- Checking of production processes and equipment.
- Monitoring quality at stores delivery, production and final inspection.
- Compliance with ISO 9001 requirements for calibration material and the checking of inspection, measuring and test equipment.
- CAD-CAM support services.
- Support services for surveying, diagnostics, studies and projects.
- Estimation of the uncertainty associated with direct or indirect measurements.
- Training and advice.
The activities can be undertaken in our Laboratory or in the client’s workplace.
METROLOGY SERVICES
- Dimensional and geometric checking of pieces and mechanical elements.
- Digitization and geometric reconstruction of surfaces.
- Measurement of surface roughness.
- Measurement of mass, strength, temperature, humidity, pressure, luminescence and turn rate.
CALIBRATION SERVICES
Calibrations accredited with ENAC and other equivalent bodies (basic ISO 9001 requirement) and ENAC calibrations through centers collaborating with AIMME:
Calibration of basic dimensional metrology instruments:
- Scale calipers
- Slide and micrometer probes
- External micrometers
- Two and three-contact internal micrometers

- Straight and lever comparators
- Thickness guages, radius guages and spiral guages
- Line standard, flexometers y measuring tapes

- One, two and three-coordinate meters
- Profile projectors and measurement microscopes. Stand-alone and/or integrated into means of production for measuring dimensional sizes.

- Advice on the selection and purchasing of customized machinery and on the definition of a product and process inspection plan.
- Development and implementation of calibration plans.
- Practical and theoretical metrology and calibration training for operators, technicians and heads of laboratory or quality departments.

- Conditioned metrology room.
- Large-scale, three-coordinate measuring device equipped with measuring program for dimensional and geometric sizes for the verification of pieces from theoretical values contained in CAD support.
